Information we collect

When you make an enquiry, reservation or payment through our website, we may collect personal information such as your name, telephone number, email address, booking details and information required to process your payment.

We collect and use this information only where reasonably necessary to:

• process and administer your booking;
• process and administer payments;
• communicate with you regarding your booking or enquiry;
• provide our accommodation and related services;
• comply with legal, regulatory and accounting requirements; and
• prevent fraud and protect the security of our business and customers.

Payment processing

Online payments made through our website are processed through the Hostfully booking platform and our payment processing partners, including Peach Payments and its authorised payment processing partners.

Your payment information may therefore be processed by these service providers and their authorised service providers for the purposes of securely authorising and processing your payment and completing your booking.

Holiday Homes Cape Town does not store your full payment card details on its own systems.

Peach Payments processes payment information on behalf of merchants and acts as an Operator under POPIA in respect of personal information processed for payment transactions.

Sharing of personal information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Where reasonably necessary to provide our services, we may share relevant personal information with trusted service providers, including Hostfully, Peach Payments and their authorised processing partners, website and technology providers, and other service providers involved in administering your booking or payment.

These parties may process personal information on our behalf and are required to handle such information appropriately and securely.

International processing

Some of our technology and payment service providers may process or store personal information outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, Holiday Homes Cape Town will take reasonable steps to ensure that such transfers comply with the applicable requirements of POPIA.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or misuse.

Our payment processing partners use secure payment infrastructure and appropriate security measures.

Retention of information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or where we are required or permitted to retain it by law.

Your rights

In terms of POPIA, you have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• request access to personal information that we hold about you;
• request that inaccurate or outdated information be corrected;
• object to certain processing of your personal information; and
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator where you believe your rights have not been respected.
